Due to the worsening situation regarding the corona virus, the AnimalLogistics team would like to inform about the current situation:

What is the Corona Virus?

Even though it is probably known by now: Coronaviruses are viruses that can cause mild to severe disease progression, e.g. with symptoms of a normal cold or severe pneumonia.

On December 31, 2019, the WHO (World Health Organization) was informed for the first time about several pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. Since January 7th, the cause has been identified: the novel coronavirus (nCoV).

Is the virus dangerous for my pet?

According to the latest studies, the virus is not transmissible to dogs or cats and therefore there is no risk of transmission or illness of the pet.

How does the virus affect the transport of my pet?

Sometimes there may be restrictions on entry and exit. Many European countries have already completely closed their borders.

Overview of the current restrictions:

Europe:

Germany:

Starting Monday, March 16th, there will be border closures in Germany as well. According to current information, the borders to

  • France
  • Switzerland
  • Austria

More detailed information will be available on Sunday evening.

It is no longer possible to enter the following countries:

  • Poland
  • Denmark
  • Czech Republic
  • Turkey
  • Montenegro (no direct flights + quarantine)

Norway:

Does not allow any import or export of live animals!

Spain and Portugal:

Have declared a national emergency. Entry is not possible.

Italy:

The entire country is under quarantine. Therefore no entry and exit is possible.

North and South America:

Air Canda: 

Does not allow new flight bookings after 3/20/20. Booked flights will continue to be operated as far as possible.

United States:

From March 14th, there is a strict ban on entry for Europeans. This prohibition is valid for at least 30 days. It is uncertain how exactly the animal transport will be affected. However, many flights will be cancelled. Please contact us in case of a trip to the USA so that we can clarify your case individually.

Argentina:

Prohibits entry for persons coming from an infected country.

Asia:

You are not allowed to enter the following countries:

  • Sri Lanka
  • Qatar

China:

Entry is currently possible. However, it must be expected to be obliged to a 14-day quarantine.

Africa:

Namibia:

Entry and exit is not directly prohibited. However, flights to Germany have been cancelled.

Australia:

Entry is generally permitted. Upon arrival, you must go into 14-day self-isolation.

If your destination is not listed, please still contact the AnimalLogistics Team, as changes in air traffic can quickly occur.  All information is taken from the WHO website or our partners.
